Kyla Bass is a visual artist and creative practitioner based in Meanjin (Brisbane), whose work bridges mixed-media, installation, and performance to explore the interplay between societal hegemonies and the lived experiences of women. Working on a Bachelor of Fine Art (Visual Art) at the Queensland University of Technology, she graduates in 2026, hoping to further develop her immersive, concept-driven installations during her masters.
As the vice-president of Post Datum—a not-for-profit art collective established in 1998—she champions emerging voices across her art community, coordinating exhibitions, artist talks, workshops and collaborative projects. She also works as a curator and organiser at Good ARI, where she curates programs that amplify feminist perspectives and fosters arts access.
Her work has been featured in group exhibitions, and she has been published in SuboArt Magazine, notably for her project Suburban Dream, an experiential site-specific installation that invited audiences to reflect on Australian Suburbia.
